Saturday MeMe

I wasn't planning on posting today, but the lovely Kat tagged me in a MeMe. I through this together quickly, so it's nothing groundbreaking. Here are the rules to the MeMe:

1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules on your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quicks of yours.
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged bloggers letting them know they've been tagged.

1. I am an only child. I always wished I had a brother or a sister. Because of this, I am extremely intriqued by the family dynamics of others. I also wanted to make sure that my children would have siblings to play and share their life with each other.

2. I dress in sort of a uniform fashion. I don't particularly care for shirts with a lot of prints or patterns. I think they look perfectly wonderful on others, but I feel like they just sort of wash me out. I normally wear black, shades of blue, white, brown or gray. Boring, I know. But what I lack in excitement in the wardrobe department, I fully make up for with funky accessories.

3. I don’t like talking on the phone. It’s just unnecessary. Most of my phone conversations are under four minutes. Anything longer than that, I start to lose concentration. Also, if I call you, unsolicited just to chat, know that I really, really, REALLY like you. I have close, dear friends that I don’t talk to on the phone, ever. I’ve gotten better about my phone phobia recently.
I have worked diligently over the past year to call the people I love/like more frequently.

4. I am nervous to meet you. Let me clarify. I’m nervous to meet up at a pre-arranged location where we both drive separate cars. Will you be waiting for me in the parking lot? Will you be inside? What if you come in a different door? Will we miss each other? What if you’ve drastically changed your hair and I don’t recognize you? Will parking be a hassle? What if I’m late? What if you’re late? Those are only the questions rolling around in my head while you and I are talking, making arrangements to meet. Can you image what’s going though my head on the drive over? Know that the huge smile I give you when we finally DO meet up at the pre-arranged location is one part ‘I’m so glad to see you’ and one part ‘Thank-goodness-that-mini-panic-attack-I-just-had-getting-here is now OVER!’

5. I like to go to movies alone. Don’t get me wrong, I really WOULD like to go to the movies with you, but sometimes I just like to go alone. When Jeremy gives me some time off from my motherly duties, I will usually nap or try to figure out how to squeeze a movie in alone.

6. I don't like chicken. Who doesn't like chicken? Me, that's who. I've had a few bad experiences with undercooked or really fatty chicken, so I'm off it now for the most part. I will eat it if I cook it at home, but it is so overdone that it resembles jerky.

Who shall I tag? I choose Mama Dawg, Sherindipidy, Papa TV, Blissfully Caffeinated, Heather, and Monkey.

done! although i did change it a bit to suit my needs. and, i get panicky about parking ALL THE TIME. whenever i don't know where i'm going, it's a mild anxiety attack wondering if they'll have a valet, do i have to find street parking, will i have to walk far, WILL I HAVE TO PARALLEL PARK? *sigh* i'm all twitchy now.

My husband doesn't really like chicken either. He only eats it when I refuse to cook anything else.

I knew I liked you - I'm an only child too!

Thanks for the meme! I was starting to get a little panicky about not having anything to say (has that ever happened before in my life??) this weekend! Whew!

Thanks for tagging me!

College and the parking / finding classes thing was torture for me. Panic attacks on a regular basis.

Also, I believe you will find a lot of solidarity on the chicken thing. Both times I was pregnant I couldn't touch, smell, or be anywhere near chicken. Let alone eat it.

Have a great weekend!!!

Only child - check

The phone - as time goes on I dislike it more and more actually.

And I get neurotic when I have to meet someone. The same questions creep in my head. I do "dry-runs"... it's sad and pathetic.

I hate the phone. I mean, I hate it like it's a girl who totally flirted with the boy I liked in school. The same boy who didn't even know I existed, so it wasn't like it mattered. But I wouldn't talk to that girl as a matter of principal. It's the same thing with the phone.

Except I don't dislike the people who call me. No. I just don't answer the phone.

I think I just made myself sound hyper-antisocial. Wow. Hmmm.

What the hell? I haven't commented yet? Dammit, dinner's ready. Ok, 3,4 & 5, right with you. Don't go to movies by myself anymore, or movies period, but used to a lot. If we ever meet anywhere we'll use GPS and text pictures of our outfits. And the phone? I rarely use it anymore. Almost exclusively text on my cell. No problems with chicken. Speaking of chicken, I can smell dinner now. Although it's not chicken. I'm going to stop now.

Aside from the going to the movies alone thing (which I have never tried but am now curious to do so...) we may be non sibling twins. :) Only child here too and agree with you on every other point!

I've always been hesitant to follow through with these things... it reminds me too much of the chain letters I (thankfully) stopped getting emailed years ago.
But, I'm new to the Blogosphere so if people dig it, that's cool with me :)

--Also, if you started a band called Hand-me-down Heroes, I would totally go see you play.

ohhh, I hate meeting up at a prearrange location to, but really only strangers. I can meet friends or family.

Do you know that now, because of you, I want to add "that's what she said" to every post I do? I just posted today, and it would have been perfectly tied up with a nice "that's what she said" at the end of it. I abstained, but it was tough. I'll throw one out there for ya by the end of the week though. Stay tuned!

1) You can have my 4 siblings.

3) I hate being on the phone! When hubs calls and doesn't get to the point he knows I'll say "talk to you later, bye!"

4) I feel the same way!! So weird. It can be friends I've known for ages but I get so nervous. I usually will ask them if they want to carpool.

why didn't i ever comment on this post?
it's probably because I called you to meet me for lunch and you wouldn't answer the phone because you were to freaked out to drive your own car to the restaurant.
